摘要
A Euro-4 compliant turbo GDI gasoline vehicle has been assessed for emissions using fast-response gas and particulate analyzers. Transient emissions characteristics of the vehicle during the cold start and catalyst heating phases are studied in detail revealing some of the techniques for meeting legislated emissions levels combined with after-treatment system configuration. The particulate emissions are measured with a view to future compliance with expected Euro-6 number-based emissions legislation. The transient size and number of these particles suggest two separate fundamental combustion phenomena. This paper considers the causes and possible methods of reducing the significant gaseous and particulate polluting events.
