摘要：
Some commercial sugars are employed as precursors for the synthesis of polyols to be used in the manufacture of polyurethane foams for thermal insulation. This article describes the essential facts related to this strategy in terms of the oxypropylation process, the structure/properties relationships and the exploitation of renewable resources.
