摘要
Carbon filament yarn embedded in composites allows to measure average strains of large measurement areas. In this work carbon filament yarn strain sensors embedded in a glas fiber polypropylene composite have been studied with respect to measuring accuracy within short periods (less than 15 minutes measuring time) The transfer factor, linearity error, hysteresis error, creep error, and repeatability have been quantified by means of comparative measurements with metal foil strain gauges The effects of the composite material and temperature have been studied as well as different techniques for electrical contacting the carbon filament yarn
