Spectral interferences in the determination of rare-earth cerium elements in geological samples by atomic emission spectrometry using an arc double-jet plasma generator
Spectral interferences were studied using Q(I) values equal to the ratio S (the slope of a calibration graph) between the partial sensitivity S-I(lambda(a)) Of an interfering line at the wavelength lambda(a) and the peak sensitivity S-A of the resonance line lambda(a). Automated wavelength scanning and computer processing of scans were performed for ten resonance lines of rare-earth cerium-group elements in spectra excited in an argon flow of an are double-jet plasma generator. The contribution of spectral interferences to the values of real detection limits was estimated.
