Easy and Efficient Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of 1,2,3-Triazolyl-Tethered 2-Pyridinylbenzimidiazoles and Their Antimicrobial Activity

摘要
A series of novel 1,2,3-triazole-tethered 2-pyridinylbenzimidazole derivatives have been synthesized form 2-(pyridine-3-yl)benzimidazole under microwave irradiation. The microwave-assisted method proved to be simple and easy-to-perform and provided high yields within a short time. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by different spectroscopic techniques such as IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, and mass spectrometry. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity against four bacterial strains and two fungal strains.
