This paper describes some numerical techniques to compute the Lyapunov exponents of discontinuous maps implicitly defined. Special attention is paid to the case of maps generated by stick-slip systems brit the techniques presented in the paper are applicable to wider classes of maps. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
