Unsteady, conjugate, forced convection heat transfer from an impermeable sphere embedded in a porous medium has been analyzed. The porous medium is saturated with a fluid. Local thermal equilibrium is assumed. The fluid flow is axisymmetric, steady, and incompressible. The heat balance equations were solved numerically in spherical coordinates by an implicit alternating direction finite difference method. The influence of the sphere surface slip velocity on the heat transfer mechanism and rate was analyzed for different flow regimes, different values of the physical properties ratios (thermal conductivity ratio and heat capacity ratio), and Pe <= 10(3).
