摘要
Accumulative Roll-Bonding (ARB) is a severe plastic deformation process invented by the authors. The ARB is applicable to continuous production of large bulky materials, and various kinds of ultrafine grained structural metallic materials with mean grain sizes smaller than I mum have been fabricated by the ARB. The principle of the ARB, processing details, microstructural and crystallographic features of the ARB processed materials, and mechanical properties of the ultrafine grained sheets are introduced and summarized in the present paper. The possibility of application of the ARB to advanced materials, such as multilayered material and bulk-mechanically alloyed materials, is also discussed.
