摘要
This paper presents an octagonal dual polarized four-arm Archimedean spiral antenna integrated with edge-fed impedance transformers covering mm-Wave frequencies. Compared to a conventional center-fed antenna with coaxial feed, this compact planar proof-of-concept design mimics an on-chip implementation and demonstrates edge-feeding and a geometry that is amenable to multi-feed on-antenna power combining, while maintaining desired spiral antenna characteristics such as broad bandwidth and dual polarization. The simulated results of the proposed antenna show return loss > 10dB, isolation > 60dB, and half power beamwidth (HPBW) > 45 degrees, covering nearly 7:1 bandwidth ratio from 11 - 75GHz.
