摘要
The 5th generation (5G) mobile networks have abundant spectral resources and high transmission bandwidth, which motivates us to study the application of 5G novel signal as the illumination of opportunity (IOO) in passive radar detection systems. This paper investigates the feasibility and capability of using 5G signal as an illumination source for passive radar target detection. The analysis of the ambiguity function (AF) indicates that the 5G signal has strong clutter suppression ability, as well as high range resolution and velocity resolution, the feasibility of using 5G signal as IOO is fully verified. Based on this, we design a Doppler processing method of moving target indicator (MTI) and moving target detection (MTD) cascade to detect targets. Simulation results show that the 5G signal has excellent target detection performance and potential application to passive radar scenarios.
