Maximum reductions of collision induced frequency shift in soliton-WDM systems with dispersion compensation

摘要
The frequency shift of solitons, induced by collisions between different channels in a soliton-WDM system, can be reduced by dispersion compensation. The reduction mechanism is due to a cancellation of the shifts generated in both normal and anomalous dispersion regimes. The cases with particular values of dispersion in a 2-step dispersion compensated system are then found, in which the frequency shift is locally minimised for almost any collision distance.
