摘要
Within the jurisdictional area of the Crown of Castile, during the Reign of the Catholic Monarchs, this work studies the income sources of the judges and the ways through which they sought and defended those sources. A special emphasis is placed in the pecuniary punishments and, between them, in monetary fine destined for the Royal Chamber, its assignments, destinations and uses, in the hands of the judges. This research is particularly interested in demonstrate how the way of managing the profits of the office of the Corregidor could affect the justice, causing serious hurts to defendants and litigants. In order to illustrate, the career of Bachiller Diego Arias de Anaya is analyzed.
