Ni(II)-piperidinedithiocarbamate complexes with bidentate phosphorus-donor ligands

Nickel(II) piperidinedithiocarbamate complexes of the composition [Ni(pipdtc)(P-P)]X and [Ni-2(pipdtc)(2)(NCS)(2)(dpph)] (X = NCS, ClO4, I; P-P = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe). 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane (dppb), 1,6-bis(diphenylphosphino)hexane (dpph), 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf); pip = C5H10; dtc = S2CN-) have been synthesized. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electron and H-1, C-13{H-1} and P-31{H-1} NMR spectroscopies, thermal analysis, magneto-chemical and conductivity measurements. A single-crystal X-ray analysis of the [Ni(pipdtc)(dppf)]ClO4, complex proved four-coordinated nickel in a deformed square-planar arrangement with a S2P2 donor set. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
