摘要
The paper is concerned with the investigation of the steady-state response of an applied load moving with constant speed for infinite long time over the top surface of a homogeneous thermoelastic layer lying over an infinite half-space. The governing field equations of motion and heat conduction have been solved by using the Fourier transform technique. The algebraic expressions as a function of time and horizontal distance for the displacements and temperature change have been obtained and are valid for all epicentral distances. The displacements and temperature change so obtained in the physical domain at the free surface of the layer and its interface with the half-space have been computed numerically and are presented graphically. The paper may attract the attention of engineers and designers because of its significance in engineering problems of ground motion under a pressure wave.
