PATRIMONIAL ATTRIBUTES AND MANAGEMENT OF THE WINE LANDSCAPE IN MOUNTAIN SPACES: LA SIERRA DE SALAMANCA

The wine sector has become one of the most solid supports of the agri-food industry in Castilla y Leon. However, very little attention has been paid to its landscape and the heritage values it contains. As a result of the lack of recognition, there is a shortfall of management mechanisms to guide their transformations and ensure the preservation of their most significant attributes. This article analyzes the tools of landscape management in one of the mountain areas with the highest density of heritage in Spain, la Sierra de Salamanca, with the aim of assessing the possibilities offered by the MaB Programme (Unesco) in Biosphere Reserve of Sierra de Bejar and France for the preservation of the wine landscape DOP Sierra de Salamanca.
