Influence of material flux on the jump relations at a singular interface in a multicomponent solid

The mass and energy balances for a multicomponent solid, changing its composition by diffusion, are derived both in the bulk and at a moving non-material (singular) interface like a phase boundary. The body is deformable and diffusion of interstitial and substitutional species as well as vacancies is considered. The thermodynamic driving forces and corresponding fluxes are calculated in an interface point derived from the study of the local dissipation. The surface growth terms, as introduced recently by Irschik [1], can be identified via the flux of vacancies.
