摘要
The mesoporous silica SBA-15 material was synthesized as a carrier in drug delivery system (DDS). The Prepared mesoporous material SBA-15 was characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and N-2 adsorption/desorption isotherm, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The drug loading efficiency (DLE) was investigated and found that the maximum drug loading efficiency was (37.2%). The drug release behavior of Prednisolone (PRD) was performed in three different media at body temperature 37 degrees C such as; distilled water at pH 6.8, phosphate buffer solution (PBS) at pH 6.8 and according to United State Pharmacopeia (USP38) in PBS media at pH 7.4. The results were found that maximum release could reach up to 86.29% at pH 7.4 after 24 h. Different kinetic release models such as first order, Korsmeyer-Peppas, Hixsone-Crowell, Higuchi, and Weibull were applied. The drug release data was fitted with Kosmeyer-Peppas model after 24h and follow non-Fickian diffusion for distilled water media of pH 6.8, n = 0.5387 with determination coefficient (R-2) 0.9178 and follow Fickian diffusion for both PBS media of pH 6.8, n = 0.451 and pH 7.4, n = 0.465 with R-2 0.9871 and 0.9826 respectively.
