Computers have revolutionized the way that engineering design is accomplished. Current hardware and software capabilities can be used to efficiently design and analyze engineered systems in ways which were unheard of just a few short years ago. In a reflection of the situation in industry, computer-aided design techniques are being incorporated into the engineering curriculum. This paper will focus on one of integrated design software package-SDRC's I-DEAS. The paper will describe various projects at Michigan Technological University (MTU) involving the use of I-DEAS within the engineering curriculum.
