High-volume, high-accuracy, SGML document capture: A case study

This case study describes points that need to be considered when setting up a high quality (99.9%), high volume (over 1m pages p.a.), long term (5-10 years) document capture operation. RXBS(Rank Xerox Business Services) captures documents for the EPO(European Patent Office). Around 25,000 pages are captured each week, 52 weeks a year. From paper to SGML encoded text with embedded images, all steps and relating issued will be discussed.
