摘要
SCRAMJET engine has become one of the most recent advancement in the field of air breathing hypersonic flight. This paper gives a brief review on recent developments of scramjet combustor and fuels used in scramjet engine. For this purpose, various research works is going on to find new conclusions associated with supersonic engines. The parameters that affect the efficiency of scramjet engine are angle of injection, injector number, and geometry etc. There are various challenges that must be overcome in the combustion process to develop an efficient scramjet engine. By proper air-fuel mixing at the cost of pressure loss, the efficiency of scramjet engine can be improved. Efficiency may also be enhanced by injecting the fuel inside the cavity. Hydrogen fueled scramjet engines have become the most encouraging propulsion systems in this field. Hydrogen has a number of advantages such as high flammability, low density, least pollution and availability makes it suitable for supersonic engines. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
