摘要：
A number of pyridines derived from 2-phenyl-4-methyl-1,2-dihydro-6-oxo-5-pyridinecarbonitrile (3) have been synthesized and evaluated for radioprotection and cytotoxic activities. The structures are supported by elemental and spectral analyses. Most of the tested compounds displayed significant activity as cytotoxic and/or radioprotectors.
