摘要：
This article describes important aspects of health-care quality, quality improvement (QI), patient safety (PS), and approaches to research on QI/PS efforts. Common terminology to facilitate an understanding of 01 and PS research is reviewed. Models for understanding system and process performance are discussed. Introductory considerations to 01 data and 01 research analytical considerations are provided.
