Early streamer emission lightning protection systems: An overview

摘要
The state of knowledge concerning the operation of early streamer emission (ESE) lightning protection systems is discussed. The efficacy of this ESE device is investigated. The importance of developing these systems for electrical systems is analyzed. These devices differ from conventional lightning rods in that they are equipped with in some fashion to increase the efficiency of lightning attraction and thereby extend the effective range of protection over and above that of conventional lightning rods.
