Measurement and origin of the (u)over-bar,(d)over-bar asymmetry in the nucleon sea

摘要
The distribution of light anti-quarks in the nucleon sea and the origin of the observed ū, d̄ flavor asymmetry are examined. A definite state on the integral properties of the parton distributions in the proton and neutron is formulated based on the charge and baryon number conservation. Results show that there is a sizable excess of d̄ relative to ū in the sea of photon and by charge symmetry, and an excess of ū relative to d̄ in the neutron.
