摘要
In this article, a controlled clinical study in 100 calves suffering from acute bronchopneumonia under field conditions in Germany is described. The animals were treated with either Florfenicol (40 mg / kg bodyweight by single subcutaneous injection) or Tilmicosin (10 mg / kg bodyweight by single subcutaneous injection). A clinical examination was conducted on day 0, prior to treatment, and on nine consecutive days after treatment. A significant reduction in body temperature was observed on day 1 in both treatment groups and kept upright throughout the entire observation period. On days 2, 3 and 5, body temperature was significantly lower in the Nuflor-group. In the Florfenicol-group treatment success was scored 'excellent' or 'very good' in 95% (39 out of 41 cases) compared to only 78% in the Tilmicosin-group. Out of 34 nasal swabs, 13 Mannheimia haemolytica and 6 Pasteurella multocida could be isolated. All isolates were sensitive to Florfenicol and Tilmicosin. This study demonstrates clearly efficacy and safety of subcutaneous injection of Nuflor(R) in cattle.
