摘要
Aim. The purpose of present study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks moderate intensity circuit resistance training on adiponectin, HOMA-IR and pro-inflammatory markers in obese men. Methods. Thirty sedentary healthy obese men were randomly assigned to three groups with different BMI: G1 (25 <= BMI<30 kg/m(2)), G2 (30 <= BMI<35/m(2)) and G3 (35 <= BMI). Circuit resistance training includes 6 movement of resistance exercise, with 3 sets and with 60 seconds rest interval between sets and 3-minutes rest interval between circles with 65% 1 RM. Ten mL blood sample was taken from each participation at before and after of training protocol to measure the serum adiponectin and TNF-alpha, hs-CRP, fasting insulin and glucose and HOMA-IR levels. Results. One way ANOVA showed that moderate resistance training did not cause any significant changes in body weight and WHR when pre and post-training values were compared. However, body fat mass decreased significantly (P<0.05). Fasting serum glucose did not change significantly, but insulin level declined significantly (P<0.05) in response to eight weeks moderate resistance training. HOMA-IR was reduced significantly by 17%, 12% and 11% in groups, respectively. Moreover, adiponectin concentration was increased significantly by 10%, 8.8% and 10% in groups, respectively. In addition, there were no significant differences among the adiponectin responses in groups. Also, serum levels of TNF-alpha and hs-CRP were no significant decreased statistically. Adiponectin concentration was correlated with variables negatively. Conclusion. Despite improvement in insulin resistance and pro-inflammatory markers, 8 weeks of moderate-intensity circuit weight training had effect on adiponectin levels in healthy obese men. In addition, serum adiponectin were found to be significantly and negatively correlated with body fat mass, WHR, BMI, HOMA, and inflammatory markers. Therefore, it is concluded that decreases in insulin resistance induced by circuit weight training are related to changes in adiponectinemia in healthy obese men.
