摘要
In this paper we evaluate the performance of the supplemental channels that are assigned to high data-rate users during a burst. In order to understand the impact of variation of the environment on the burst performance due to the user mobility, we use a dynamic simulation approach. We study the ideal Manhattan-like street pattern and therefore two cell plans are considered: The full and half square cell plans. We show that the average losses in SIR on the supplemental channels increases as the burst elapses and when the mobile velocity also increases. The effect of the forward link load is also analyzed. When this load increases, it restricts the burst requests that are accepted, thus reducing the average losses in SIR on the supplemental channels. We show that reducing the burst length, it reduces the average losses in SIR, the probability that a burst exceeds a given FER and the fraction of burst interrupted.
