摘要：

Single crystals of L-histidine bromide (abbreviated as LHB), a semiorganic nonlinear (NLO) material have been successfully grown by slow evaporation technique, and are reported for the first time. Solubility curve of LHB has been determined in the solvent water. Good optical quality single crystals up to a size of 22 x 20 x 9 mm(3) are obtained. The crystals were characterized by employing UV-VIS spectrum, FTIR and X-ray diffraction methods. The crystal shows good second harmonic generation efficiency.
