Performance Analysis of a Double-Salient Permanent-Magnet Double-Rotor Motor Using Electromagnetic-Thermal Coupling Method

摘要
In this paper, to accurately evaluate the electromagnetic performances with the change of working temperature, a new electromagnetic-thermal coupling method is proposed for the double-salient permanent-magnet double-rotor motor, which combines the thermal network model with the finite-element method. First, a thermal network model and a finite-element model are built, respectively. Then, the heat sources are obtained from the calculation of the total loss in the motor by the finite-element analysis (FEA) directly. Some key parameters are real-time updated during the process of electromagnetic thermal coupling step by step. Finally, the comparative analysis is carried out with the proposed coupling method, conventional FEA method, and experimental results. The results show that the proposed coupling method has an advantage in both computational efficiency and accuracy, which can be applied to other electric machines with complex structures.
