Higher Education of Journalism and Communication in the Era of Media Convergence: Canada Mode and Reflection on China Mode

摘要
The higher education of journalism and communication studies in the university were introduced and developed in a wide range in Canada after the United States. With the global spread of news contents and the commercialization of media ownership in the era of media convergence in the information society, the higher education of journalism and communication studies begin to adjust program objective, educational modes and course system according to the trend of global media developments. On the basis of personal experience as a visiting scholar in Canada and the first-hand data of interviews with teachers and students both at home and abroad, this paper mainly aims to analyze the history, current situation and challenges of the higher education of journalism and communication studies in Canada in comparative case study perspective, from which we might get some enlightenments to the future development of the higher education of journalism and communication studies in the university of China.
