摘要
Metabotropic glutamate receptors in experimental models of absence epilepsy Glutamate is a major player in the central nervous system, implicated in both fast neuronal transmission and its modulation. The 8 metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluR1-8) have very different effects in neuronal physiopathology depending on their localisation, activation mode and intracellular signalling. mGluR ligands are still excluded from antiepileptic treatments, although their implication in epilepsy has been largely demonstrated. We summarize here the existing data on the implication of mGluR in particular in absence epilepsy in experimental models. We present then in detail our study on the role of the mGluR7 receptor and its interacting protein, PICK1, in the genesis of absence-type epileptic seizures in rodents.
