The aim of the article is to indicate research directions on the complex process of digital transformation in organizations. According to the assumptions of industry 4.0 and smart city most organizations from various industries will face the challenge of digital transformation in the next few years. This will mean a change in the current functioning through the use of information technology, the Internet of Things and the automatization and digitalization of many basic (including office) processes. The digital transformation process is a complex undertaking and requires the involvement of the entire organization. It covers a number of changes in the existing business and administrative activities. The transformation process changes not only the functioning of the organization in the environment, but also its internal processes and structures. Due to the scope of changes, the digital transformation process of an organization is tied with a high risk that is not fully explored and identified. Therefore, in this article there is an identyfication of key areas of changes (named "perspective of transformation") which should be analyzed and monitored during the organization's digiatal transformation. In this article there is characteristic of four currently identified perspectives: perspective of projects, processes, technologies and organizational culture. Identification and research on such perspectives is necessary to build a model of digital transformation process for better management of changes and transformation risk.
