An Empirical Study on Local Architecture Heritage Attractions' Sustainable Development from the Perspective of Eco-efficiency: A Case Study of World Culture Heritage, Fujian Earth Building Attractions

摘要
The heritage of local rural architecture is the coagulation of human farming civilization and wisdom. The Chinese nation has 7,000 years' history of farming civilization, and it is abundant in local architectural heritage, which is the important carrier of culture connotation. Eco-efficiency theory offers the effective way to value the attraction's low carbon level and its sustainability, and the essence of tourism ecological efficiency lies in the balance between tourism economic growth and the influence of tourism environment, so as to improve the sustainable development ability of tourist destination. This paper evaluates tourism's impact on environment by measuring tourists' carbon footprint from transportation, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, etc. The number of carbon footprint from transportation is the highest, totaling 531,565.158 t, accounting for 96.52% of the total carbon footprint produced by tourists. Accommodation carbon footprint is 18,376.046 t, occupying the second highest position, 3.33% of the total. The carbon footprint of scenic spot management was 710.071 t, ranking the third, accounting for 0.129% of the total. Therefore, transportation and accommodation are the key points of saving energy and reducing the carbon emission. Combining the tourism revenue, the eco-efficiency of Fujian earth building attractions shows that per ton of carbon footprint just contributes 231.7 RMB economical value. Compared with other attractions, Fujian earth buildings attractions' ecological efficiency is very low. Based on empirical study, this paper proposes the countermeasures for improving ecological efficiency.
