摘要：

The article describes the procedures for production planning and control system (PPC system) selection. The method for the analysis of current production planning and control in a company is shown first - thus critical points are found out. Horizontal and vertical production programme and processes segmenting is done next. A suitable production process organisation type is chosen for each individual segment and then an optimal production planning and control method is selected. Some segments have prevailing roles, and therefore several production planning and control methods must be combined. This hybrid of planning and control methods is a basis for the selection of possible commercial PPC systems. Finally, a cost-benefit analysis is made and an optimal PPC system is defined.
