THE HISTORICAL TEXT BETWEEN FICTION AND LITERATURE

This article aims to develop an analysis between history and literature. Although history has faced some definition problems and has the pretension to portray the facts, the historiographic development occurs as a text. There is also the language issue which is another delicate element as it makes the text manipulable. This paper aims to trace the division lines between history and literature. To discuss it, we consult some theorists as Paul Ricoeur and his contributions to the narrative and philosophical time field, and also the theorists Salvatore D'Onofrio and Umberto Eco. The historical comparative method was used, as well as the contributions of other experts such as Anselmo Peres Alas and Sandra Nitrini. Sandra Pesavento and Ivan Teixeira were fundamental to understand the similarities and differences between History, time and literary narrative.
