Prospects in practical theology The perplexed epistemology

The prospective of this essay is not usual in Practical Theology (TP) studies. While these are generally focused on a particular context and carried out from a well-defined place or practice, this article deals with the epistemology of the discipline. The hypothesis is the following: the mutations that change decisive theological poles blur the epistemology of PT itself. For ecclesiology has moved from catholicity to concepts like affinity and utility; spiritual/believing experience is conceived as an experiment in which theological interpretation gives way to the race for visibility; the theological proclamation of hope of 'life in Christ' reduces the horizon to a sacralization of daily life. The challenge for PT is no longer to situate itself within theology as to manifest the contribution of theology in collaboration with the human sciences, and to question the very meaning of theology.
