Features of Promotion of Regional Development in Russia

This paper describes the main tools of stimulating regional development. Currently, almost all countries form the regional policies and develop various programs and means of stimulating, decide to change the administrative territorial division. The Russian Federation experiences balanced regional development issue which is not specific only to Russia. It is typical for developed and developing economies. The experience of European countries and the EU as a whole within the framework of regional development is of particular interest. The paper analyses the experience of leading countries in the field of regional development and explores the policy for regional development in the Russian Federation.
