Interfacial reaction of Sicf reinforced Ti-48Al-1.5Mn matrix composite

摘要
The interfacial reaction between Sic fibers (SiCf) and matrix of as-fabricated SiCf reinforced Ti-48Al-1.5Mn matrix composite was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that SiCf reacted with gamma-TiAl matrix during the fabrication process and TiC1-x, Ti5Si3 and Ti2AlC products were formed. The reaction mechanism is that C and Si atoms diffused from SiCf to matrix, and Ti, Al and Mn atoms diffused from matrix to fibers at the high fabricating temperature.
