COMPARATIVE STUDY OF EXPERIMENTAL METHODS FOR EVALUATION OF RESIDUAL STRESS DISTRIBUTION

摘要
The aim of the contribution is to present the experience of the X-ray diffraction laboratory of the Czech TU in Prague with residual stress analysis of steel surfaces after mechanical machining by using three methods for residual stress determination. Besides X-ray diffraction, hole-drilling and layer-removal experimental techniques were applied for residual stress depth profiling after milling, grinding and scraping of steel guide gibs. The main goal of research is to assess applicability of tested methods in the case of a shallow state of macroscopic residual stresses.
