Catalytic growth of carbon nanofibers on a porous carbon nanotubes substrate

摘要
Carbon nanofibers with diameters around 100 mm were synthesized on a porous carbon nanotubes (CNTs) substrate impregnated with an aqueous nickelous nitrate solution as catalyst precursor. Some features of these nanofibers indicated that they grow freely from the nickel nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) morphology of CNTs pellets was presented.
