In this paper a new model of One-Cycle control is proposed; it is valid, both in CCM and DCM, for frequencies up to half the switching frequency. The new model is obtained by using the sampled-data modeling combined with the usual small-signal linearization of the average model of the converter power stage. All of the main dynamic characteristics of One-Cycle control are correctly predicted by the proposed model; the reference-to-output transfer function of the system is also given. The theoretical predictions are confirmed by the results of suitable numerical simulations and laboratory experiments on a One-Cycle controlled buck switching converter operating both in CCM and DCM.
