摘要
In recent years, there is a phenomenon existing in the product design major in many institutes of higher learning that more attention has been paid on nurturing students' concrete skills while ignoring the cultivation of their aesthetic capacity as well as their imagination and creativity. The art education in universities is aimed to cultivate talents who have certain abilities to appreciate arts and creative awareness and possess strong senses for art. Focusing on the development of students' skill training will merely produce adept art workers whereas it will help very little to nurture a genuine designer who understands the meaning of life, know how to appreciate arts and have high artistic accomplishments. Based on this, this article holds the view that more attention should be made in cultivating students' senses for the appreciation of arts. Through further study on aesthetic connotation and aesthetic feelings on different stages, I made detailed description about the final teaching strategies.
