Enhanced strength and ductility in ultrafine-grained aluminium produced by accumulative roll bonding

摘要
The use of accumulative roll bonding to produce enhanced strength and ductility in ultrafine-grained aluminum was studied. Al sheets of commercial purity (99%) with an original thickness of 1 mm were used. Flat tensile specimens for monotonic testing were cut from the rolled sheets by spark erosion. With respect to mechanical properties, it was proved that the homogneity of the microstructure was rather constant for the several specimens investigated.
