摘要
In the present deaf education context, the professional Interpreter Translator - Libras /Portuguese Language (TILSP) has significant importance not as a voluntary or assistance agent as it happened in the pastm but as an agente who promotes liguistic acessibility to the deaf person. This research, classified as bibliographic and documentary (GIL, 2002), aims to reflect on the formation and performance of this professional, especially in the educational context, based on legal documents such as the Libras Decree (BRASIL, 2005), the Interpreter Law (BRASIL, 2010) and in research on the subject, among them, Lacerda (2002; 2010), Quadros (2004), Marques (2007), Sa e Machado (2017). The results of this study point to the need for investments in the training and in the valorization of the interpreter translator, so that deaf learners, mainly the ones included in scholar contexts, have met their linguistic demands.
