摘要
Multiaxial fatigue criteria allow to assess the fatigue life of a material submitted to multiaxial loadings. Some of these criteria are based on the critical plane approach. Robert's critical plane criterion is presented and used in this work. The material critical plane corresponds to the most damaged plane, both for constant amplitude or variable amplitude loadings. Applications of such a fatigue criterion are presented in this paper. The predicted orientation of the fatigue crack initiation is compared with experimental results in the case of multiaxial variable amplitude loading.
