Production of heavy fragment ions in collisions of C60 with fast ions

摘要
We measured singly charged heavy fragment ions with a high-resolution TOF mass spectroscopy in collisions of 10MeV He2+ with C-60. The experimental TOF spectrum was compared with Monte-Carlo simulations based on the statistical C-2 emission model using two different sets of activation energies Of C-2 emission from singly charged fullerene ions. When high activation energies of fullerene ions (9.5eV for C-60(+)) are used, the simulation successfully reproduces the experimental spectrum. The present,result clearly supports high activation energies.
