摘要
A new zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C12H18N2O)Cl-2]center dot CH3CN, derived from the Schiff base ligand 2-[(2-propylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and X-ray crystallography. The complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcn with unit cell dimensions a = 26.387(9) angstrom, b = 7.389(2) angstrom, c = 18.731(6) angstrom, V = 3,652(2) angstrom(3), Z = 8, R-1 = 0.0455 and wR(2) = 0.1143. The asymmetric unit of the compound contains a mononuclear [Zn(C12H18N2O)Cl-2] complex and an acetonitrile molecule linked together by an intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond. Crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds linking the molecules into chains along the b axis of the unit cell.
