In this paper, Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ and Sr2SiO4:Eu2+,doped with Ce3+ phosphors were synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction method sintered at 1250 A degrees C for 2h in reducing atmosphere. The phase of as-prepared samples was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results of the XRD patterns confirmed that the obtained phosphors were a single phase of Sr2SiO4 composed of orthorhombic structure. In addition, we changed the doped concentration of Eu2+, and characterized the luminescence properties of the samples by the fluorescence spectrophotometer. The results showed that when the Eu2+-doped concentration was 0.5 mol%, the luminous intensity of the samples was the highest, and the concentration quenching mechanism was the dipole-dipole interaction. This work has researched the sensitization effect of co-doping ions (Ce3+) to Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ phosphors. The results showed that the luminescence intensity of the samples improved when doped with Ce3+ ions, and reached the maximum when the concentration was 0.5 mol%. Furthermore, the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ under UV excitation was demonstrated.
