PTSA catalyzes the Michael addition of indole to alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl ketones under ultrasonic irradiation to afford the corresponding product beta-indolylketones in excellent yields (up to 94%). (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
