摘要
Diesel engines are the major contributor of Nitrous oxide (NOX) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions. Higher combustion temperature of the diesel engine causes the NOX emissions. Presently most of the research work is carrying out for diminishing the NOX emission. According to the literature survey, Water in Diesel Emulsion (WiDE) is one of the best techniques for controlling NOX emissions. Due to the vaporisation of water at the combustion chamber leads to reduce the peak temperature. In the WiDE technique, microexplosion process plays a vital role. It exclusively improved combustion characteristics and reduces gaseous and solid emissions. This paper reviews the various preparation techniques of emulsion, characterisation, and parameters affecting the stability of emulsion are critically reviewed and analysed.
